We just got back from the meeting about XX oilfield with the people from Shenzen. Actually we didn’t participate actively since it was delivered in Chinese and all of us can’t speak Chinese. So, it was really a boring moment for us, listened to what these people talking bla…bla…bla. A little help came from the presentation slide, enabled us, at least to guess what were these people talking about.
We were sleeping last night, while the phone rang waking us up, a call to attend the meeting in the morning, in the nearby hotel. Apparently, they didn’t intend to invite us initially, but changed their mind later. And another strange thing was we were not invited to have lunch together with them, whereas the presentation finished at 12.10 and that’s about the time for lunch and everybody was ready to have lunch in the same hotel but a driver was asked to drive us back to our hotel instead. It’s quite funny for us but so far we’re just fine. We think that maybe they didn’t set up the lunch with additional 4 people or because we have limitation for food (halal food) and they ordered kind of food that we couldn’t eat…….or they wanna have a crazy and wild party after the tough meeting, complete with belly dancer and alcohol drinks…..huahahaha…..(just our imagination) and didn’t want to invite us. Anyway, that’s not a big problem for us. We can go back to the office, put our –s on the seat, turn on pc and write this post for you.
Wow…i’m a bit off track now…go back to our main subject. I just asked our secretary to ask the hotel staff to provide us once or twice a week a certain kind of chinese dish. I ever mentioned this food previously, the name of this food is "Shu Zhu Yu", which mean "a fish submerged in the water". This food is very delicious and has became our all time favourite of chinese cuisine. People said every chinese restaurant must have this kind of food in their menu. Eventhough the meaning of "Shu" is water but there’s no water at all, instead it is oil. A fish submerged in oil mixed up with seasoning spices like chilli, pepper etc.The taste is very strong and hot so it would last at your tongue for quite long and afterwards your toungue becomes numb, dull, can not feel anything.
First time we found this menu was when we’re invited by the family of our boss (actually she’s andam and suryadi’s boss)…they said that they’re really enjoy this fish and always miss it everytime they’re abroad…they don’t miss Yanjiao, but for sure they’ll miss this kind of food… : )
Maybe it’ll have a little bit different taste if you find this fish in different restaurant…this is a special menu for Chinese people, so I think if we want to order it, we have to find a good Chinese restaurant first, not a regular moslem restaurant…hehehe…Here in Yanjiao we have the most favourite restaurant (that means expensive : )), located just nearby our beloved HaiShi Hotel…maybe 10 minutes walk and you’ll find it across the road…I think so many people have lunch and or dinner at that restaurant…everytime we pass it, we saw so many fancy car parked…we bet they all will order this special fish…
dare to have this special fish for lunch and or dinner…? come and join us, here…hehehe…
